What is

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on healing modality that helps your body release tension, regulate your nervous system, and enhance your body’s natural ability to heal.

Using light touch—typically no more than the weight of a nickel—I tune into the subtle rhythms of your craniosacral system (which includes the brain, spinal cord, and surrounding tissues). These rhythms reflect the health and function of your nervous system.

By gently releasing restrictions in the fascia and craniosacral system, CST helps the body shift out of stress or survival mode (“fight, flight, or freeze”) and into the parasympathetic state— where rest, digestion, and deep healing can occur.

How Does Craniosacral Therapy Work?

We all feel stressed or anxious sometimes, but the body can hold onto these emotions long after the moment has passed. Unfortunately, this keeps us in a state of “fight or flight.” While our natural reactions to stress and trauma protect us at the time, we have to train our central nervous system back into a sense of safety. Otherwise, hormones like cortisol and adrenaline continue to pump through the body, leading to discomfort, restlessness and agitation. In this state, organ systems don’t function properly and the body cannot optimally heal or repair itself.

Craniosacral therapy utilizes a soft touch to release stress and tension that can impact the nervous system and therefore your entire wellbeing. The craniosacral system has a subtle yet distinct rhythm that practitioners can detect to eliminate disruptions and restore balance. This can help improve the body’s natural healing abilities and alleviate the symptoms of pain, illness and mental decline. Craniosacral therapy is a safe, gentle and non-invasive treatment that gets the body back to feeling safe so it can function optimally. Our body knows how to heal itself, we just have to give it the opportunity to do so by creating a supportive environment.

You’ll remain fully clothed, lying comfortably on a massage table.

I use gentle holds, often at the head, base of the spine, and other key areas. Sessions are led by your body’s innate intelligence—I simply listen and support what’s ready to release. Many clients experience a deep sense of stillness, peace, and emotional ease.
